Service Description

Overview

Changebot is an agent-first changelog platform for software teams. It helps organizations write, review, and publish clear product updates to hosted changelog pages, widgets, Slack, APIs, and custom-domain destinations.

Scope of Services

Changebot currently provides the following services:

  • Changelog Publishing: Provides hosted changelog pages, embeddable widgets, RSS and Atom feeds, and custom-domain publishing.
  • Agent-Assisted Drafting: Helps users write, edit, review, and approve product updates through agent and chat-based workflows.
  • Context Awareness: Builds an evolving understanding of the company's product and systems to generate increasingly accurate messaging over time.
  • Delivery Integrations: Supports distribution of updates via Slack, API, hosted pages, widgets, and other configured destinations.

Features

  • Hosted changelog: Publishes product updates to a durable customer-facing URL
  • Agent and MCP workflows: Supports drafting and publishing from compatible AI and agent surfaces
  • Codebase integrations: Can ingest PRs, commits, and releases from supported repositories when enabled
  • Slack delivery: Sends product updates to team channels or individuals
  • Manual editing: Users can review and edit generated updates before publishing
  • Activity filtering: Users can choose which types of activity to include (e.g., code only, docs)
  • Audit trail: Maintains logs of updates sent and who received them

Limitations

  • Some integrations and agent surfaces may depend on plan, availability, and third-party platform support.
  • Automated summaries are machine-generated and may require review for accuracy.
  • Customer-facing updates should be reviewed before publishing.

Availability

Standard availability is 24/7 excluding scheduled maintenance.

Data Handling

  • Changebot processes metadata and content from integrated product tools (e.g., commit messages, diffs, PR titles.)
  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Changebot does not store source code or sensitive business logic beyond the generated summaries used to write updates.

Change Management

Service descriptions are reviewed quarterly or when a significant change is released. Customers are notified of any major updates via email.
